Newsletter: How you can support endangered languages in 2022

Happy New Year from everyone at Living Tongues!
One of the best ways to support our work documenting endangered languages in 2022 is to make a contribution to the cause. This year, our Living Tongues end-of-year holiday card features a “Snowy Owl” created from scripts in 65 different languages! While supplies last, we are sending out these cards to all new donors, so there is a chance a snowy owl might be coming your way if you donate within the coming days. Donation through PayPal is also available.
Last day to donate to this project documenting endangered Jewish languages

Throughout history Jews have spoken dozens of languages, many of which are now critically endangered. To preserve these languages for the future, now is the time to act. The Jewish Language Project, Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages and Wikitongues are teaming up to bring you this unique campaign to support ongoing efforts to safeguard Jewish languages around the world.
Living Dictionaries: bringing languages to the future
In 2021, we collaborated with citizen-linguists to curate and upload dictionary content for languages such as Tutelo-Saponi Monacan, Kalanga, Kalinago, Owé, Olùkùmi, Sora, Woccon, Iquito, Manchu and many others! Want to learn more? Visit the Living Dictionaries platform.
The House of the Lurni Spirit: Documenting Stories of the Sora Tribe
We are producing a series of short films in the Sora language of Odisha State (India) with subtitled versions in English and Hindi. The content of the films will cover vanishing traditional knowledge domains of the Sora tribal people. The release date of the full series is projected to be late 2022. Several clips are already available on our YouTube channel.
