About

Formally recognized as a critically endangered language by UNESCO, Jejueo is a dialect of the Jeju island situatued in the southern sea of Korea. With currently less than 10,000 native speakers, it has been in the process of degradation for several decades due to the designation of Standard Korean as the only official language in mass media and everyday life.
