About
This collection of Kayan words are based on Kayan Baram. It is part of my works documenting the Kayan language and culture in Baram, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. While there are many other variants of the language, Kayan Baram (ISO 639-3) is widely spoken by the Kayan living in Baram and its river tributaries such as the Tutoh, Apoh and Tinjar. There are also Kayan variants in the Belaga and Tubo regions and while these variants are intelligible, they are different largely in the pronunciation, and some lexical items.
