yaq

English: Translation
is located, lies
verb
Location and Directions
Notes

The verb "to be" for identifying an object's location. Used for non-physical things and objects that are long or flat and "lie" down, rather than sit.

Compare to auxiliary tuuyaq (tenyeway), "is, does while lying down"

Like we can say in English, "Along the river lies a village..."

Alternate to ewaa (nyeway), "is located", used for people, animals, buildings, and other boxy objects that stand or sit up (compare to tewaa (tenyeway), "is, does while sitting").
