Meaning depends on dialect:
'Iipay: aayum means "spreads out something in the sun". Related to aayump, "stretches oneself out in the sun, sunbathes"; aayumk, "gathers into a bunch"; and mat aayumk, "get together, have a meeting".
Tiipay, Campo, and others: aayum can mean "gathers something", related to mat aayum, "gather together, have a meeting, get married".
Homonym aayum (probably related to kuuyum, "faces a certain direction') means "makes something go a certain direction, takes it that way, turns/faces it that way", also in maaylly aayum, "raises something, makes it go up".
