Buhi folk name for the oakleaf basket fern; A large epiphytic or lithophytic fern, Drynaria quercifolia (L.) J. Sm., family Polypodiaceae. Called pakpak-lawin in Tagalog. Named for its fan-shaped nest fronds resembling a pamaypay ‘hand fan’ or spread hawk wings.
