ETYMOLOGICAL NOTE <+++> A distinctive Boie’nen and Buhi form documented in earlier and contemporary vocabulary sources. Its deeper Austronesian origin remains uncertain. It should not presently be derived from a proposed Proto-Austronesian \*qanəq without regular comparative sound correspondences.
