The Boie’nen particle ni is a free grammatical marker that introduces a personal possessor, agent, experiencer, or referent. It is comparable to the genitive marker ni found throughout many Philippine languages. Unlike the prefix [ni-], this particle occurs independently and is not attached to a root.
