The defining feature is not merely tightness. It is dimensional insufficiency.
Thus:
- pi-et — tight because the enclosing space or fit is close.
- ayakpit — tight or barely fitting because there is not enough length, width, material, or allowance.
An item may be pi-et without being ayakpit, as when a garment is intentionally tailored for a close fit. It becomes ayakpit when the dimensions are inadequate or barely sufficient.
