Medicinal values for: anti-inflammatory purposes, backache/body ache, cold and coughs, and bed sores.

  • Leaf: A paste prepared from leaves (sakam), when applied to a local inflammation, acts as an anti-inflammatory.
  • The paste is also applied on the infected area for relief from backache/body ache. It is also applied to cure sprains or muscle twists.
  • Leaf (sakam) juice (ros or rasa) is beneficial against conjunctivitis.
  • Root: Dried roots (rohoɽ rehet) are used as a tonic for hiccups, colds (sardi rua) and coughs (kʰuʔ).
  • Bark: A decoction prepared from the bark (baklaʔ) is applied locally for bed sores.
