Medicinal values for: Constipation and stomach disorder, cuts and wounds.

  • Bark: A paste of the bark (baklaʔ) and leaves (sakam) are used to heal wounds and cuts.
  • Seed: The seed powder (dʒaŋ lubuʔ) mixed (mesa) with water (daʔ) helps to provide relief from constipation and other stomach disorders. 

Culinary uses: 

  • Fruit: The fruit (dʒo) has many uses, for cooking, health and household purposes. The fruits (dʒo) are widely used as a flavoring in preparations of chutneys and drinks. 
  • The seeds (dʒaŋ) and leaves (sakam) are also edible. The seeds (dʒaŋ) are boiled with the matkom (Madhuca longifolia) flower (baha) and consumed. It has a light sweet (sibil) taste.
