Medicinal values for: dysentery, diarrhoea, sore throat and cough, toothaches

  • Bark: Powder prepared from the bark (baklaʔ) is mixed with hot water (dʰipao daʔ) and taken as a remedy to cure problems for blood-associated dysentery.
  • Leaf: A decoction prepared from the leaves (sakam) is considered as a cure for treating digestive system disorders. The decoction is taken twice in a day by diarrhoeal patients.
  • Shoots: The young leaves (baleʧ sakam) and tender shoots are effective against sore throat and cough (kʰuʔ). The leaves (sakam) are used to treat toothache (ɖaʈa hasu).
  • Fruit: The fruit (dʒo) is useful for the digestive system.
