Other uses: The shrub is used as a hedge (gʰorna) in many rural areas. It has the ability to last for a relatively long time without water (daʔ), and it does not have many pests or diseases and is toxic to cattle (ɖaŋra ɖaŋri), goats (merom) and sheep (bʰeɽa) and thus prevents them from grazing (atiŋ) in the nearby areas.
