Medicinal values: wounds, pain and swelling, vomiting, fever, insect bites, urinary problems

  • Leaf: A paste prepared from the leaves (sakam) is applied on a wound (gʰao) or affected area. This reduces pain and swelling.
  • Bark: A powder (lubuʔ) prepared from the bark (baklaʔ) is given to stop vomiting (ula).
  • A decoction prepared from the bark (baklaʔ) is used as a remedy to get rid of fever (rua).
  • A paste prepared from bark (baklaʔ) is applied on areas of insect bites (ger), to provide relief from redness and pain.
  • Root: A decoction of the roots (rehet) is prepared and taken to treat urinary problems.
  • Wood: They make planks (dirkʰa) from the wood (sahan) of the kodom daru.
