Notes

kukuʧ haser plays a prime role in providing dietary requirements to the Birhor community. However, it is less popular in terms of its medical benefits.

Medicinal values for: stomach ailments, gastric problems

  • Tuber: Tubers (da) are the only edible parts. The tubers (da) are roasted in the fire (seŋgel-re ataj) and eaten.
  • Because of its bitter (agam haɽhat) and sweet (sibil) mild taste, the community healers consider them good for stomach ailments.

Caution: kukuʧ haser is used as a medicine for gastric problems. However, excessive consumption may reverse the effect and increase gastric problems.
