This plant is used medicinally and is the source of an essential oil for the Birhor community.

Medicinal values for: Urinary problems, itching in the eyes

Leaf: A decoction of the aromatic leaves (sakam) are used to cure itching eyes.
Combination use: leaves (sakam) of losot baha and leaves (sakam) of tulsi. Mix (mesa) together the paste prepared from leaves (sakam) of losot baha and tulsi and give orally to cure burning urinary sensations.
