Medicinal values for: joint pains, jaundice, urinary tract infection, menstrual bleeding, chest pain.

  • Bark: The bark (baklaʔ) of the plant is applied topically for chest pain.
  • The juice (ros or rasa) prepared from the bark (baklaʔ) extract of the plant is taken orally to cure jaundice.
  • A paste prepared from the bark (baklaʔ) is also effective against joint pains.
  • Leaf: Leaves (sakam) are ground and mixed with water and given to cattle (ɖaŋra ɖaŋri) to stop them from panting (hapʰa kanaj).
  • Root: The roots (rehet) of the plant are mixed with other parts of other plants to cure problems related to passing urine, like a burning sensation or a deep yellow colour of the urine.
  • The juice (ros or rasa) extracted from the roots (rehet) are also given to females to stop high menstrual bleeding.
