Notes

Interestingly, although the plant’s literal name means "ear pain medicine" in Birhor, this use was not offered as one of its medicinal values.

Medicinal values for: redness of eye, cataracts, tooth decay

  • Root: Juice (ros or rasa) prepared from the root (rehet) is applied with cold water (rabaŋ daʔ) against redness of the eye and to cure cataracts.
  • Leaf: A paste prepared from the leaf (sakam) is used for relief from pain due to cavities in teeth or tooth decay.
