Always remains uninflected. Can be said on its own or with other verbs to mean literally, "not yet". Can also be combined with another verb to mean "before". Examples:
'Ehattvech hechapa? Hemir. "Has the dog woken up? Not yet."
Mesaaw hemir mesally kaallhwas! "Before you eat, wash your hands!" Lit. "(When) you have not yet eaten, wash your hands!"
Can be used as a sort of negation:
Meyullp hemir meyu? "Are you not yet ready?"
Mikech weyiw hemir. "Mike hasn't come yet."
Kechpak hemir! "Don't come out yet!"
