Mainly used to indicate where someone "is from", i.e. where they originated from, were born and grew up.

Said as kupay by many speakers, including examples from Barona and Santa Ysabel.

Mesa Grande dictionary provides two definitions, "is from a certain place", and "belongs there", plus example: Peyii kupaays. "He's from here."

Tiipay equivalent keman (kemaan), or one can simply use weyiw (neyiw) "comes"
