In non-'Iipay dialects, often used as a negative amplifier in combination with "umaaw, maaw, maw", such as "not at all" or "not even", equivalent to "nyii... umaaw" in 'Iipay. Often used in negative imperatives, as in "Don't...!" "May k-... umaaw!"
In Mesa Grande 'Iipay, "may" can be used in non-negative sentences to mean "plus, and, very much", e.g. "may 'iikwich temams." You're a real man!
