Medicinal values for: eczema, toothache, urinary problems, cough, wounds

  • Plant: A paste prepared from the fresh plant is used against eczema which gets healed within 7-8 days. In case the infection is chronic the paste must be applied for a longer period until it gets cured.
  • Seed: The seed (dʒaŋ) is beneficial against toothache (ɖaʈa hasu) or tooth worm. The person suffering from toothache (ɖaʈa hasu) lights fires (seŋgel) on tiles or any other similar medium and puts the seeds (dʒaŋ) in it and inhales the smoke (dʰuŋga) through the nose (mũ) and mouth (moca) or both, and the tooth worms (tidʒu) come out of the cavities.
  • Leaf: Juice (ros or rasa) from the stem (ɖãʈiʧ) and leaves (sakam) is also used to treat other skin diseases and is taken in case of difficult and burning urination.
  • The leaves (sakam) are soaked in water (daʔ-re lohotekana) and the infusion is used to treat cough (kʰuʔ).
  • Root: A paste prepared from the juice (ros or rasa) is applied to cattle (ɖaŋra ɖaŋri) or dog (seta) wounds. Post application, the worms (tidʒu) come out of the wound.
