Medicinal values for: diarrhoea, fever, toothache, cough, dysentery, eczema, urinary problems

  • Root: An aqueous extract of the root (rehet) is taken for diarrhoea.
  • Root (rehet) juice is taken twice a day for fever (rua).
  • A root (rehet) paste is used as a poultice against toothaches (ɖaʈa hasu).
  • A decoction prepared from the roots (rehet) is used to treat cough (kʰuʔ).
  • Leaf: The leaves (sakam) are crushed and mixed with salt (buluŋ) to treat dysentery. The water (daʔ) extract of the leaves (sakam) is applied externally to infected areas to treat eczema.

Combination use: roots (rehet) of sim janga, leaves (sakam) and bark (baklaʔ) of kongat , and roots (rehet) of maraŋ dudʰi. Grind (rid) these together and this mixture is given with water (daʔ) twice a day to cure white secretion during urinating.
