Medicinal values for: malaria, rashes, itching and redness of skin, mild fever, digestion problems, intestinal worms, snake bites and scorpion stings, cough and cold

  • Whole Plant: For treatment of malaria, a paste prepared from the whole plant is mixed with water (daʔ) and given to drink. A paste prepared from the herb is applied externally on various skin conditions such as rashes, itching, and redness.
  • Leaf: In case of mild fever (rua), the leaves (sakam) of the herb are taken and put in water (daʔ) for a night (nida) and the next morning (setaʔ) the decoction is drunk on an empty stomach (eken-te laiʧ).
  • The decoction is also beneficial for stomach (laiʧ) functions and speeds up the digestion process. Fresh leaf (baleʧ sakam) extract is given early in the morning (setaʔ utar-na) on an empty stomach (eken-te laiʧ) to expel intestinal worms (tidʒu).
  • A paste of leaves (sakam) is applied externally on the skin wound of scorpion stings and snakebites (ger).
     
  • Aerial Parts: A decoction prepared from the aerial parts can treat problems related to cough (kʰuʔ) and cold (sardi rua)
